In 2008, ANIQ continued with the task of making unions aware of the status of the chemical industry and also providing information with respect to the performance of collective bargaining agreements.

With respect to the work carried out by the Labor Commission, a work culture was promoted that contributed to improve the competitiveness of the companies in the sector, emphasizing the comparative analysis of salaries and benefits for unionized personnel that helped establish the current indicators of the market situation and the major aspects that companies should take into account at the time collective bargaining agreements are reviewed and negotiated. As a supplementary matter, the first stage of information gathering from several areas of the Human Resources Departments of ANIQ's members was completed, in order to create tools that will be helpful in decision making and will provide a global vision of the current situation of Human Resources Departments in the industry.

With the purpose of supporting the tasks of all persons in charge of the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, the Labor Commission carried out the following surveys and analyses:

* Annual Report of salary increase in the domestic market.
* Analysis of the salary market.
* Summary of indicators of Human Resources and Compensations

A survey of salaries and benefits was carried out, creating a permanent and specialized database on the compensation market of the chemical industry, comparing such information one with the other and also with data obtained from the general domestic market.

As the most important event of this Commission, the Annual Convention of Human Resources was held with the participation of high level government officials, union representatives and top executives from ANIQ's member companies. Thus a more active participation was achieved managing current topics and those with more relevance in this area.

The Labor Exchange continued supporting the recruiting and screening areas, providing all member companies with job applicants of an adequate profile. This was done by maintaining in ANIQ's site a database with information containing vacant positions published and job applicants, same information that is continually updated and is available in that site.
